How to Prepare


Georgetown’s Dikran Izmirlian Program in Business and Global Affairs is open by application to first-year students from the McDonough School of Business and from the Walsh School of Foreign Service who have successfully completed the gateway course (BGAF 101: Global Markets and Policy).

The BGA program launched during the 2019-2020 academic year, with an inaugural class of students graduating in Spring 2023. Each cohort consists of approximately 40 students, with half of the cohort hailing from the McDonough School of Business and half from the Walsh School of Foreign Service.

If you are interested in the BGA:

  1. Talk to your first-year advisor.
  2. Select first-year courses intentionally to include the first BGA signature course and other recommended first-year courses.
  3. Attend information sessions in the fall of your first year.
  4. Apply to the program in April of your first year.
